Address: northern slope of Su Monte - 07010 Monteleone Rocca Doria (SS)
The Via Ferrata della Regina is a partially equipped path that climbs and crosses a large part of the ledges that characterise the northern side of the rocky hill of Su Monte. These paths are often large and wooded, so the route is characterised by discontinuous difficulties, where rocky ways alternate, at the beginning and at the end, with simple walkways. The there-and-back path has a full length of about 600 m and the routes equipped with metal cable have a total length of about 300 m. Despite the fact that Via Ferrata is located along low-altitude cliffs and at a short distance from the town, visitors are advised not to underestimate the difficulty of certain particularly exposed and/or overhanging passages. In case of need there are several upward escape routes, i.e. towards the summit panoramic road; it is recommended to take a look at the escape routes before starting the trip. All along the cliff there is excellent cell phone reception. According to the climbing difficulty ratings, this route can be classified as "difficult" because of an overhanging climbing section at the beginning of the route. The whole cliff faces north, so it is hit by sun only in the early morning during spring-summer while it is always in the shade during winter.
